University of Applied Sciences for Public Service in Bavaria - Department of archive management and library science

The department of archive management and library science is one of the six departments that belong to the University of Applied Sciences for Public Service in Bavaria. The institution provides training specially tailored towards entering civil service in Bavaria.

The department offers two bachelor programs: library science and archive management. The library science program starts every year in October while the program in archive management is need-based and not held regularly.

The theoretical training for the future civil servants takes place in small groups of about 18-22 students. The theoretical study is combined with a practical part in well-chosen academic libraries and archives in Bavaria.
